How To Make Oreo Snowman Pops
First, gather all your ingredients.
- 1 (15.5 ounces) package of regular Oreos
- White Melting Chocolate (I like using Candiquik) OR 1 package of White Chocolate Chips & 2 teaspoons of coconut oil
- 1 bag of Mini Chocolate Chips (240 mini morsels)
- 30 Orange M&Ms
- 30 Lollipop Sticks
- 30 Cake Pop Favor Bags
- Optional: Stand for drying pops (I like to use a cake pop stand), parchment paper, or silicone baking mat
Next, carefully break apart your Oreos. Set them aside.
If you are using melting chocolate like Candiquik, follow the directions on the package to melt the chocolate. If you are using white chocolate chips place them in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the white chocolate chips in 15-second intervals until melted and smooth. Mix coconut oil into the white chocolate. Adding the coconut oil to the chocolate chips will help thin out the chocolate making it easier for you to dip the Oreo pops.
Dip the lollipop stick into the melted chocolate. Then place the chocolate coated stick in the middle of the Oreo with the frosting on it. Then add the other side of the Oreo before the chocolate sets. Let them dry completely before the next step. You can put them in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes to speed up the process.
After the lollipop sticks have set, you can dip the entire Oreo in your melted chocolate. Continually rotate the pop, letting the excess chocolate drip off. The chocolate will begin to set and stop dripping but don’t let the chocolate completely set.
Immediately press 2 mini chocolate chips onto a cookie for the eyes. Next place 1 orange M&M for the nose. Lastly place 6 mini chocolate chips for smile. Only do 1 Oreo cookie at a time.
Place them on a stand to dry or if you do not have a cake pop stand then you can set them on parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Cool completely, about 1 hour or to speed up the process place the decorated pops in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to set.
Wrap with the Oreo Pops in Cake Pop Favor Bags!
Enjoy!!!
Tips & Tricks:
- You can use any Oreo cookie you want.
- A quick tip is to use a good quality chocolate. Trust me, it will make your cookie taste that much better. My favorite go-to chocolate chips are Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips. They are seriously the best chocolate chips.
- Instead of using mini chocolate chips or M&M’s to decorate the eyes, nose, and mouth you can also pipe them using a Wilton Ready-to-Use Icing Tube Decorating with a standard coupler and tip #2 OR Wiltons Icing Writing Black Pen. I was able to find the Wilton Ready-to-Use Icing Tube Decorating at my local Walmart store and the Wiltons Icing Writing Black Pen at my local Target Store. I already had the standard coupler and tip #2 but you can find that at your local craft store like Michael’s or Joann’s.
