More Halloween fun! Milk Chocolate Halloween Bark. Another fun sweet treat to make with the kids this Halloween or maybe all future Halloweens!
You only need a few ingredients and a few minutes out of your day! This sweet treat is very similar to the Halloween Mummy Bark that I have up on my blog too. Go check it out!
This cute dessert is great for Halloween Parties or snacks for school or sporting events as long as it isn’t to hot to melt the chocolate.
How To Make Milk Chocolate Halloween Bark
First, gather all your ingredients.
- 3 cups chocolate chips of your choice (or you can use melting chocolate like Candiquik or Ghirardelli)
- 2 cups assorted candy, cut into bite size pieces (I used M&M’s, Candy Corn, Kit Kat, Oreos, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Candy Eye Balls)
Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, tin foil, or a silicone baking mat.
Place the chocolate chips in a medium heat-proof bowl. Melt in 30 second increments in the microwave, stirring after each increment until completely melted and smooth. If you are using melting chocolate like Candiquik or Ghirardelli follow the directions on the package to melt the chocolate.
Pour the chocolate onto the parchment paper, tin foil, or silicone baking mat.
Using a spatula, spread it into an even layer about 1/4-inch thick.
Place the chopped candy on top of the melted chocolate.
Then place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes until the chocolate has fully hardened.
Remove the bark from the refrigerator. Use a butter knife to cut into chocolate to break into pieces.
Serve immediately or store in airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.
Tips & Tricks
Instead of using chocolate chips you could also use melting chocolate like Candiquik or Ghirardelli. I love using Ghirardelli chocolate for all my desserts. I just feel like it is a good quality chocolate.
If you do not like milk chocolate chips and prefer semi-sweet chocolate, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate go ahead and use that instead. There is no wrong way to make this dessert.
You can use the Oreo Halloween cookies instead of the original. They usually have orange color for the middle of the cookie filling but taste the same as the original Oreo cookie. It will give this dessert a pop of color. You can even pick your favorite Oreo flavor too!
You can even use monster eye balls that have a variety of eye sizes and colors.
Be creative and pick candies that you would normally eat. You could even use pretzels, marshmallows, nuts, or sprinkles. The options are endless!
If you use white chocolate you can use food gel or dye to color the white chocolate. Green, purple, orange would all be great Halloween colors. You can even drizzle different colors on top of the milk chocolate bark.
I love the LARGE baking pan I got from my favorite store Target Wilton Ultra Bake Professional. I also love using Amazon Basics Silicone Baking Mat instead of parchment paper. They are super easy to clean and they fit perfectly in your baking pan.
