I have a great easy crowd pleasing meal for you to serve at your next big gathering. Easy Crockpot Kalua Pork! Literally 3 ingredients and you let the crockpot do all the work. Set it and forget it.
You’ll need about 6 to 8lbs pork shoulder roast, some Hickory Liquid Smoke, and some sea salt.
Prep time is literally 5 minutes. All you have to do is turn your crockpot on the low setting, poke little holes with a knife on both sides of the pork, pour 1 tablespoon of hickory liquid smoke and sea salt (so a total of 2 tablespoons of each) on each side of the pork and rub it in. Bam! Done!
Lastly, place the pork in the crockpot but make sure the fat side of the pork is on the bottom of the crockpot.
Cook on low for about 20 hours. I needed mine the next evening so I cooked it over night. I started around 7pm and it was done by 3pm the next day. Optional: you can put cabbage in for the last hour.
Remove meat from slow cooker and shred. I like to add the meat back into the crockpot and add drippings as needed to moisten the meat. Keep the crockpot setting on warm until you are ready to serve.
You can serve the meat over rice or make little sliders and/or sandwiches. You can also an add your favorite BBQ sauce. Seriously so easy and delicious!
This is such a budget friendly, no hassle recipe your family and friends will love at your next gathering.
